Childcare Grant for SMLMS2024

SMLMS2024 is pleased to offer childcare grants to support researchers with children attending the conference. We recognize the importance of creating an inclusive environment that allows all participants to fully engage in the event.

Grant Details

• Total of 6-7 grants available
• €300 per grant
• Applicable for the 2.5 days of SMLMS2024 (August 28-30, 2024)

Eligibility

• Must be parent/legal guardian of child(ren) 12 years or younger
• Must be registered and attending SMLMS2024

Allowable Expenses

• Home-based childcare during conference
• Travel costs for caregiver to applicant's home
• Travel costs for child(ren) to caregiver's location
• Travel costs for caregiver to conference location (Lisbon)
• Travel and childcare costs for bringing child(ren) to Lisbon

Application Process

Complete the Childcare Grant Application Form. The deadline for applications is July 31st, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by August 15th, 2024.

Selection Criteria

If there are more applicants than available grants, selection will be based on:

• Career status
• Number of children
• Location of fund application
• Distance from home to conference

Important Notes

• No on-site childcare services provided
• SMLMS2024 organizers do not endorse specific childcare providers
• Participants are responsible for arranging and vetting childcare services
