Organizers
Local Organizers
The 13th Single Molecule Localization Microscopy Symposium (SMLMS 2024) is organized by a team of researchers specializing in super-resolution microscopy, cell biology, and microbiology:
-
Ricardo Henriques: An expert in super-resolution microscopy, Ricardo leads a research group at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. His work focuses on developing advanced imaging technologies and applying them to cell biology research. He has significantly contributed to the field with widely-used algorithms such as QuickPALM, NanoJ, SRRF, and SQUIRREL.
-
Pedro Matos Pereira: A microbiologist at the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier, Pedro leads a research group interested in bacterial cell biology. He utilizes super-resolution microscopy to study bacterial cell organization, protein complex dynamics, and host-bacteria interactions.
-
Filipa Reinoite: A science communicator and project manager with a background in cell biology. Filipa has organized several scientific events and is currently promoting science communication in Portugal.
